Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
When a visitor types a name, location, or other term into a third-party search box, that query is sent to the partner that operates the tool. Rhea County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy policy, so review that policy before submitting information.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form submission may include a name, reply address, and any details the sender chooses to provide. We retain that material as needed to read and answer the message. Contact submissions are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Avoid sending sensitive custody, medical, financial, or identity documents through a general inquiry.
Routine Technical Information
Like most websites, this site may receive standard technical details when a page loads. They help measure traffic, diagnose errors, and understand how the service performs. The data can include:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser name, type, and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring page or site, when supplied
- Date and time stamps tied to requests
Browser Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand site use and remember limited technical preferences. A browser can block or delete cookies through its settings. Some site features, partner search functions, analytics, or advertising may work differently when cookies are refused.
Reasons for Processing Data
Information is processed only for operational, measurement, communication, and service-delivery purposes connected with the site. Those purposes include:
- Operating pages and maintaining reasonable speed
- Sending a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Learning which Rhea County release-resource pages visitors use
- Finding faults, abuse, and technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Outside Websites and Advertising
Links lead to the Rhea County Sheriff's Department, Rhea County court resources, TDOC FOIL and Community Supervision, VINELink, BOP and ICE locators, other government sources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's own privacy terms and data practices apply. This site does not set those outside policies.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies or similar technology to measure campaigns and select ads. Their systems may recognize activity across more than one website. That processing occurs under the advertiser's practices, not on systems controlled by Rhea County Released Inmates. Tennessee public records obtained from government offices remain governed by applicable law, including Tennessee Code Title 10, Chapter 7, rather than by this Privacy Notice.
Limited Data Recipients
We do not sell personal information. Data may, however, be handled by a limited group of providers or authorities when needed for the functions described in this notice:
- Search partners that process the query submitted to their tool
- Analytics providers measuring use and performance
- Advertising networks serving and measuring ads
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid subpoena, warrant, court order, or other lawful demand
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under our control. Still, every internet-connected service carries risk. No transmission method, storage platform, website, or account can be promised as breach-proof. Visitors should send only the information needed for an inquiry and should not treat ordinary web forms or email as a secure records-delivery channel.
Visitors Must Be Adults
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent personal data through a contact channel, use the Contacts page to identify the submission and request deletion.
Available Privacy Choices
Rights vary by location and the law that applies. Subject to lawful limits and identity verification, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information held about that visitor
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information when retention is not required
- Honor an available opt-out from certain processing
A request concerning data held by a search partner, advertiser, analytics provider, sheriff, court, TDOC, or federal agency must be directed to that entity. We cannot exercise rights over systems we do not operate.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised when site practices, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated text will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply from that point forward. This version is effective August 2, 2026.
